Parminder Nijjer is the founding Director of Healthy Mind Therapy. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP) in good standing. I have completed my training in Cognitive behavioral therapy and am certified as Clinical Traumatologist.
In my experience of 10 years in the field of mental health I have supported clients of diverse cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
Skilled in rapport building and psychological assessment I use an integrative and client-centered psychotherapeutic approach using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic models including the Cognitive-behavioral approach, trauma approach, mindfulness, emotion-focussed approach, strength-based approach, solution focussed approach, dialectical behavioral approach.
I am a motivated and compassionate professional with a demonstrated history of working in the mental health care industry. I have extensive experience with adults and adolescents with depression, anxiety disorders, behavioral issues, coping effectively with stress, pain management, relationship issues, PTSD, workplace trauma, and abuse. I work collaboratively with my clients to resurface and reconnect with them to live a fulfilled and balanced life.
I employ strong clinical skills to provide exceptional client care and growth to address their issues and challenges in a positive manner. I strongly believe in everyone's potential to grow and promote change from within in a supportive, safe, and non-judgemental environment.
Parminder works with children and adults and also offers couples counseling and speaks fluent English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
